Our Friends

Here are just a few of the nice things people have to say about us. We are who we are because of the young people we work with.  We hope to be around for a very long time.

“ Since our involvement with Class of Your Own, I can honestly say the commitment, enthusiasm and pure passion to engage students in all aspects of their workshops makes them a perfect partner for our company and one we look forward to working with well into the future. “

“ Alison Watson and Dan Gibson’s unique “classofyourown” (COYO) education initiative brings an exciting, challenging  and rewarding experience into the secondary education syllabus. By integrating rigorous STEM learning outcomes into practical project based curricula COYO encourages students to explore the world of Construction Engineering and Architecture. The program brings professionals into the class room to share their knowledge and experience and introduce students to exciting career prospects in the industry’s rewarding disciplines.

Autodesk Revit software is an integral element of the COYO Program and it enables students to develop Digital Models and explore “Sustainable Design” issues in a computer environment before progressing their ideas in a physical world. I am delighted to be able to support COYO through a Revit teacher training program and to witness students in Key Stage 3 and 4 engaging with this intuitive and powerful Architectural Design software.

I fully endorse the Design, Engineer, Construct! programme and am delighted to be able to support COYO through  a Revit teacher training programme and to witness students in Key Stage 3 and 4 engaging with this intuitive and powerful Architectural Design software. Aligning the STEM agenda to a practical project based learning experience, and providing young learners with a progressive route to GCSE, can only lead to greater opportunities in the world of work. “

“ Class of Your Own is one of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on in my eight years as Training Manager for Cadassist.  It’s a real privilege being involved with helping teachers around the country deliver a curriculum on sustainability in construction.  In fact, figuring out what high school teachers and students need to learn about BIM has been a real education for us.  And we’ve been bowled over by the level of enthusiasm from the teachers who have attended our training. “
Gordon McGlathery
Training Manager
Cadassist Limited

" We are absolutely  delighted to be involved in the Eco classroom project.  It is enabling us to deliver a really exciting and aspiration-raising curriculum covering the areas of architecture, engineering and construction, and to tackle important areas around sustainability in a highly practical context - brilliant! "
Andrew Chubb
Principal
Archbishop Sentamu Academy

“ The new ‘Design, Engineer, Construct’ curriculum is one of the most exciting things to enter the vocational learning programme in a long time.  Totally demolishing the concept of construction as ‘mud, bricks and concrete’, this innovative course addresses the skills, many of a very high level, that bring vision, buildings and career opportunities to light.

Design, Engineer, Construct’ provides opportunity, raises awareness, raises aspiration, uses ‘real’ industry standard software whilst working with real people doing real jobs.

The entry of this course to the market is really exciting and, judging by the intense interest so far, will be quickly taken up by many schools in the UK and abroad. ”

“ I truly believe that the work undertaken by Class Of Your Own will inspire many young people to see the vast opportunities offered in the Construction and Facilities Managemetn sector, and this will provide considerable benefits for our economy and skills shortage that our industry sadly lacks. “
Steven Gladwin
Chief Executive Officer
Hochtief Facility Management UK

“ I just wanted to say a delayed thank you for the two days of working with you…as an English NQT, I was in the same position of many of our students will be, and left buzzing and amazed at the exciting opportunities ahead.  “
Louise Davenport
Teacher
Accrington Academy

“ Unanimously and without hesitation, all pupils involved in a recent trip organised by COYO to meet professional Facilities Managers at World FM Day said they 'definitely' wanted to be involved throughout the formation of a Student FM team and in designing an FM hand book for schools. They are all really excited and inspired by this project and they love the sense of responsibility that comes with it.”
